Welcome to BreakAway Speed, your destination for the best football weight training in Texas. In a state where football is king, you must be at your best on the field, able to dominate day. Football is a complex sport to train for, with necessary cardio work, footwork drills, playbook study sessions and much more. One of the most basic and yet important components, though, is a strong football lifting program that gets you into prime shape.
Our Instructors Set the Bar
Do you want to learn a college football weightlifting program from someone who has really been there and done that? We have instructors who have played in college, who have been in the NFL. We’ve worked with players at both the pro and collegiate level. We’re not just teaching you a football weight training session that’s the same as one you could get from a fitness buff on a video. These types of trainers can be helpful, but you need someone who knows what this sport entails and exactly what type of football lifting program can realistically help you on game day. That’s exactly what we provide, and it puts us a step above the rest.
Position-Specific Training
One of the biggest things that we do with our football weight training program is that we focus on what you need at your position. In some other sports, the type of training needed for any position is relatively the same, but there’s a massive difference in football. Body type plays a large role in position play, and everyone’s body must be honed specifically for what they want to do. We know this and we cater our approach to your style of play and your position on either offense or defense.
For instance, a college football weight training program focused on offensive linemen will center around squats and bench press. Linemen get their power from their legs, coming up to get their hands into a defender’s chest and shoulder pads, then they lift and press outward, driving him back while keeping their legs chopping. Raw strength and sheer power are tantamount.
For a defensive back, though, speed and quickness are more important to break on passes. The football weight training system can’t build up as much muscle as it would for a lineman, or the back will lose speed as he puts on weight. Defensive backs need a football lifting program that gives them lean muscle and explosive power, along with a low body fat percentage, so they can stay as light and agile as possible, while still being strong enough to tackle and fight for balls in the air.
These are just two examples, but they show how we alter a college football weightlifting program depending on the player himself.
